Comfort pulls me down
Guilt be my gravity
Sinking into the deep
Without sadness or anger
A lovely deadly nothing
A pleasant never-after
Where all is left up to a tomorrow
that will forever remain so
Then every so often,
I nudge something out of place
then satisfied with my efforts
I sigh solemnly and I sink
And I’m happy to drown once again.
