CW: genocide, graphic violence, sexual violence
I keep thinking it will stop.
Any second, minute, hour,
now.
I’ve been thinking that
for a year
now.
Surely, they’ve seen the little girl
with half a head?
Surely, they must know
of kitchen table amputations
performed by fathers on daughters,
without anesthesia?
And what about Shaban?
His last moments in the inferno,
tethered to IV-drips,
as he burned alive?
Or the man in Negev
raped in prison by
The World’s Most Moral Army,
a rabid dog
on America’s lax leash.
Did they see—
No, I meant a different body.
No, I mean a different crime.
No, a different time.
No, before October 7th.
Ah
they did see.
They just didn’t care.
Because all I keep hearing
is that it’s nuanced
and complex,
like it’s astrophysics,
and not a fucking genocide.
